The Shadowmages chose not to follow the path of the dragon's sorcery, instead pioneering their own magic. Their magical arts, taken from the Dark World, are full of curses and spells of darkness. They specialize in weakening the enemy, setting foes up as prey to be devoured by their teammates.

Their magic attacks draw upon the power of primeval incantations. They put more of an emphasis on physical skills and their spells focus on weaking foes or strengthening allies rather than directly inflicting damage.

"Tell me, friend, are you afraid of the dark?"

Shadowmages use damage-over-time (DoT) spells to weaken their enemies. Each spell can be placed on multiple targets and will endure for several seconds. There are two types of DoTs employed by a Shadowmage: poisons and curses.

Poisons gradually reduce the target's health. The damage inflicted depends on the level of the skill and the weapon wielded by the Shadowmage.
Curses temporarily reduce one or more of the target's stats to cause greater susceptibility to either physical or magical damage.
In addition to casting poisons and curses, Shadowmages can also restor vitality and temporarily increase stats. In a group setting they may set their damaging abilities aside to become party support.

Heals translate and magnify a small amount of a Shadowmage's mana into health for their target or party members.
Illusions temporarily increase the offensive or defensive abilities of all members in the Shadowmage's party.
Shadowmages split their focus between Wisdom, Intellect, and Constitution, only slightly preferring Wisdom over Intellect, and Intellect over Constitution. Their mana pool and mana regeneration are most important, but spellpower and health are not far behind.

Strength and Dexterity should be altogether ignored by a Shadowmage, since they possess no aptitude for physical combat.
